Which resolution?

Hi, My camera is on it's last legs and I'm looking at getting a new one. I'm a bit unsure which resolution is best for YT vids though, 720p or 1080p? Does it make much difference?

1080p. :D
I watch at the highest option possible when I YouTube.

More (native)pixels will make the picture look sharper, and that's always a good thing :)

Video size is not everything, you should focus on video quality instead of higher video size, 720p is just a number of pixels, depending on the camera it can look great or bad. Some cameras advertise 1080p when all they do is take a lower resolution video and stretch it.

Higher quality would always be the way to go in my opinion, that is if your computer can handle 1080, or even 1920. When I go to YouTube, the default plays at 720 and I just leave it at that. Some people that change they quality of a video have to wait for it to rebuff, and all that fun stuff. I'ma just click and watch the video, I dun care really. Heck, I watch videos in 360p if the content is good.

1080p is the best that normal people will be able to view it in, and it is noticeable. 720p just looks a bit grainy, but it's not horrible. When I do slow motion videos I use 720p or even WVGA; it still looks decent, but compared to my 1080p GoPro videos you can totally tell the difference.[DOUBLEPOST=1390574175,1390574113][/DOUBLEPOST]

Content is king! My highest viewed videos look like they were shot on a camera from 328 B.C.

328B.C. that's the new resolution! WOO!

720p is usually the best way to go. If however, you can do 1080p with minimal effort, go for it.

Only do what you're comfy with
