Which Network is right for me?

Right, so for starters I'm 25 & in full time employment, so at the moment my Gaming YT channel is nothing but a hobby, and the potential income from it isn't something that's really factoring into my decision.

What I do want is the network that has the best perks, for instance;

- Relatively short/no contract length
- Good music library
- Good support team
- Good forums, the opportunity to find other non-13-year-old-screaming-child gamers to collab with

& Most importantly, if possible, a network that will potentially help promote?

based on your description, i found no network that work exactly like you said, MCN out there dont help channel to grow / promoting them, none of them , I can ensure.
all they help is monetize your video quickly, give you technical support that regarding to their network work flow, or certain minority legal problems

Yeah I figured the promotion thing might be a bit of a stretch.

Honestly, besides the potential SFX/Music library I can't see many benefits of networking before you have a decent sub base, as you're literally just gonna be gaining pennies at best.

... or am I missing a point here?

Yep. Network partnership is first and foremost a financial relationship. All other aspects are secondary which is why you'll never see them in the contracts.

With a google search for Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 you can find all the music and SFX you could ever need. Forums like YTTalk, and other public ones are good sources of collaboration.

well indeed from what Tarmack said, network out there don't help you grow or anything that you wish for, but they offer other variety helps, its all depends on what you actually want, do you face monetization problem with your video? did your video get ! symbol after being review and make you frustrated? if no, then i suggest you stay where you are

I've only faced monetization issues if I've used a piece of music that I thought was copyright-free and it's turned out it wasn't - so I can't really complain. If I realise beforehand I wouldn't go over fair usage limits.

For me, YouTube's Creator Studio has a good enough music for short clips/intro snippits generally, as long as you're not using huge segments of it!
