Which microphone option is the best?

Hi everyone. Not long time ago I bought microphone Blue Yeti and I was wondering:
Which option sounds the best with and without backround sound from the game?
It got 4 options: stereo, cardioid, omni- and bi-directional.
Since we can't post links here, go and check my latest video about it.
There is a online survey as well in description under the video
Thanks guys for help!

PS. I didn't see any subforum for audio posts, sorry if it's wrong place to post it - just move it if it's not okay.

It depends on what you are doing when you are recording. I use cardoid because I'm the only one who needs to be heard, I don't move around while recording, and don't want excess ambient noise to be picked up.

By the way, you have an excellent unsubscribed trailer... I have to say one of the best I've seen so far.

EDIT: You should use cardoid. The other ones make you sound poopy.

To be honest, I thought it's gonna be crap, but... "THE HELL Not everything must be perfect *upload click*"
"Poopy".
Well, that's new describing word that I'm gonna borrow! :D

From personal use I would recommend buying the blue yeti because it has all those options if you need to change to something different like bi-direction or someting.

Cardioid brings audio primarily from the front, with a bit leaking in from the sides. Bi-Directional, from two directions and omni-directional from all sides.

If you use anything other than Cardioid in front of your computer, your monitor will reflect your voice into the back of the mic and you'll get an echo.

Here's what the Yeti Diaphragm looks like. It has 3 capsules covering the various angles.

Omni-Directional mics are next to useless in a room that hasn't been treated for sound. They do much better outdoors. Bi-Directional has the same issue unless both subjects can get close to the mic which is a bit awkward for recording.
