Which capture card device is the best?

What's the best capture card to use to record console games? What would you guys recommend and what would be on the cheaper side, but is still a good quality.

El Gato is the best USB capture card that I've heard about.

I have a Hauppauge HD PVR 2. It works pretty nice now, isn't nice straight out of the box though.

Best is an Elgato for £130 but u could get a Roxio or an Avermedia, iv heard there cheap and good to start of with :D

I think the best cheapest one is the Roxie game capture but personally I use an elgato but it's close to the most expensive capture cards costing just about $180. But it is also the best one to use cause it only uses three wires and the software is free to download (good if you lose the software disk that comes with some capture cards), lastly it also works with both Mac and PC.

It's hard to find a capture card that works with Mac, so it's nice to see this one work with both. I would say save up for the elgato or get the Roxio first if you really need a capture card.

Hope this helps!

Seriously.....? If you took 2 minutes of your time you would have realized there are 20 other threads with the exact same title and question......

With that being said, the elgato is the best HD quality gaming capturd card.

Depends on your specs for your PC, you don't really want to go for a capture card that requires high demand of your PC for "high quality". Myself I use a Hauppauge HD PVR 2, this capture card has been the cheapest and best low requirement capture card I have used. I would recommend that.

Elgato is also good, however I had to get rid of mine (before I got my PVR 2) reason was because of it being a high demand capture card for requirements.

Crazy.... I got rid of my pvr2 because of how laffy and buggy the software was. Everytime I would capture , the software would freeze up and quit, and was very laggy, and I know my PC could handle it no biggie. Switched to elgato and it was perfect.

Thanks for all of your suggestions! :) I'll look into them.

This forum is full of repeat threads, especially asking about the different microphones and other equipment questions. You didn't have to read this particular one and respond.
