Where to find female musicians

Hi there.

I have a project in the works and I was wondering if anyone knows of any places I can find female musicians. One of the characters in my project is a singer who found her fame online. I need musicians who would be interested in lettting my actor sing their songs in my videos.

Is there a place for such a thing? It will take too long to search youtube.

You can try soundcloud. A lot of unsigned underground artists there putting out their work. I'm sure you can get in contact with someone.
