Where do you get your news articles for videos on current events?

I've Got It
I've recently stepped into the realm of videos where I'm reporting, and giving my opinion on current events, mostly gaming related, but every now and then I'll have an opinion about something more main stream. My problem is, I don't know where to find the really juicy stories. Stories, most of the time, are articles before they becomes videos, so I want to keep up in the race to report on it so as to keep my content relevant.

Kotaku is a good source, PC Gamer's a good source. Sometimes I search google (or lately bing) for latest gaming news or latest pop culture news, maybe sometimes I'll catch something in the twittersphere, but that's all I got until I see some other channel find a much better story, I see their sources and can't figure out how they managed to get there. Once I see someone I'm subscribed to do a certain story, I no longer want to do it myself UNLESS I found the source entirely on my own.

Do you know of any good sources for gaming and/or popular news?

You said GOOD sources of current news, so no I dont. The media today is not about honestly reporting the news, its about picking sides and then bickering about it.

So if you find a good honest news source let me know of it. LOL
As for gaming stuff...IGN is pretty good. Twitter can be your best friend there. They IGN posts alot of stuff on Twitter.

Well I don't need the news to be super duper credible, (grrr. The government controls the media, down with big brother rawr rawr, yeah, I know.) I just want to find the places that get the pop stories first. That way I have time to give my opinion on it, see...

I think it's mostly about having a lot of news sources, more so than having really good news sources. My rock for gaming right now is PCGamer, but like the guy above me said, there's no site that you should implicitly trust.

Honestly, you might just want to try following a bunch of developer and publisher studios, and see if you can catch something.

You should read mutliple news sites, as they all have different biases, and form your own opinion.
Don't use: Huffington Post, Kotaku, IGN, CNN, etc.

I think maybe twitter i know that news comes on twitter before any news companies report on them
follow twitter accounts for xbox and stuff like that or even people who work in a gaming company that leak stuff.

Multiple news sources would be your best shot, so you don't get called a "flaming faggot liberal" or "minority hating republican" or something else equally stupid.

A somewhat neutral source is CSPAN but even that has a spin on it.

Change it up... and try to get as close to the source as possible. Google the sources of the articles you find on the news sites. Go directly to press releases. Make connections. Talk to "experts". When looking at news cites.... Be aware of editorializing.
