Where do they get their content?

Where do channels such as this one get all of their video clips? It's a funny animal clip compilation.

PS: I'm not promoting this channel. I have no idea who this is. I'm just curious where they manage to get so much video content.

In general - depending on the content you watch and like, you will see different videos more often. So if they like these types of videos often then they will see these types of videos all over their recommendation. I think they are just downloading videos from their recommendation, tiktok and instagram. They might also use keywords. Lastly, since there channel is over 500k in size, people might be submitting it to them in the same way that many people did for shows like "America's Funniest Home Videos".

Hope that helps

Now - That is a big grey area.
Are you allowed too depends if it's fair use or not. but technically there's no way to 100% "officially" know if something is fair use until a judge adjudicates on the dispute
i use gifs in my video. I don't think there's anything wrong with using a 5 second clip from a many hour show... but if the whole copyrighted work is 5 second long then you technically just copied the whole thing which is harder to argue.
Personally using a 5 second clip from a show seems morally fine to me, but I'm not a lawyer nor am i a judge.

Commentary is often easier to argue fair use if there is a lot of commentary. Commenting on a 5 second clip that this was a scary video might meet the bare minimum for fair use. on the other hand commenting on a 2 hour clip and saying just that most likely will not cover you from fair use. It's a massive grey area. I think I'm pretty good at noticing if something is fair use or not, but it is really complicated to explain properly in a short post.

Below are some guidelines that help figure out if something is fair use. These are not 100% certainties, but they just might help build a case that something is fair use or not.

Even if you follow all of these, your video might still get claimed and it would be up to you to "fight" if you thought it was wrongfully claimed. With everything there is a risk to using content that is not yours and you have to pick if the risk is worth it.

They get the video clips from Twitter, YouTube, and now tiktok, you just have to be care ful during editing not to get your content a copyright strike...Hope that helps
