When someone makes a claim on your content.

I Love YTtalk
When someone claims that the content in your video belongs to them and they then get he ad revenue from your video, do they get all the money that video has ever made or do they get the money from the claim onwards?

I was just thinking about this after reading about the company that makes claims just to make money from youtubers success - because they don't have to return the cash once the claim is resolved.

So If I was in the process of gettting a million views and someone made a malicious claim to get my money would they get it all or would I get what I made before they claimed.

Thanks

Never heard of this before that's absolutely insane, thanks for making me aware of this:wavespin:

Yeah apparently there is a company, people were talking about this on the forum a few weeks back - there is a company that makes it's money by claiming on popular videos. I can't stress the apparently though, I have no proof. Google it. I think it happened to "Ihateeverything"

Goog to know that you at least get the money before the claim though.

Merlin's claims were perfectly legitimate. They were for the "Damn Daniel" clip which was used by many popular YouTubers in a manner that I wouldn't constitute as fair use.

OT: They'll get all revenue going forward. If you dispute the claim, no ads are shown until they respond to the dispute.

You got an example of someone using the video unfairly by anychance, I'd like to see it

There are too many to list, here's a few that have valid claims from Merlin for the "Damn Daniel" clip.
