I Love YTtalk
So very recently I've taken to making one of my favorite kinds of videos. Afterthoughts. Where I pick a subject from any portion of the video game industry and make a script explaining my viewpoint of it. Usually this show goes into the technicalities of making games feel or play a certain way. I've made a few of these for multiple channels and each time they get a lot of great feedback.
Though, that's not entirely what we're talking about in this thread. No, no no. I want to talk about the process of script-writing and how you like it when your final product starts fitting together perfectly.
As a little bit of information for all of you. I absolutely despise the script writing process. It can be long, tedious, and overall a pain. Though there has to be some good coming from it. It's the collection of all the aspirations you have to put into your video. Your ambitions being laid out on paper to make something that you hope will not only educate and entertain, but influence those who see the final product.
While some things may have to be cut, or reconsidered due to your limitations with your medium (typically, for me this means if I have the skills required to make the scene work or not) the ideas and concepts were there and overall they helped you determine your limitations and make you want to improve. So scenes like the ones you imagined can be possible in the future. Created by the hands of an experienced content creator.
Though when you start writing a script, and it comes together so flawlessly in your head. It fits together almost like a puzzle. The pieces are there, and you know they're going to help you achieve your final product, you just have to find out where they go and fit them together. Though it's already easy for you because the puzzle in mind is so clear in your head that you can piece it together without looking at the image.
This is what I want all my videos to be like.
Though this comes and goes. Script writing might be a pain but the thing that keeps me going is the idea of a video I can describe to be near-perfection.
I love creating videos. What are your experiences? Ever felt this while writing a script? O:
