When is the Best Time to Launch a Channel

Hello again, forum-goers,

I've continued to acquaint myself with the forums here, and I saw one thread about the best time of the week to put videos up. Now I'm going to ask if there's an ideal time to put a channel up, both meaning time of day, day of week, and season in general. Will I have more competition if I launch in the fall like they do on TV? Should I put my series in the offseason?

If you're a consistent YouTuber, and by that I mean videos daily, weekly, or even bi-weekly, then anytime is a good time!
Making a channel isn't going to bring in the crowds, so the sooner you get your name and content out there, the better!
 
I had my channel since 2009 and only started uploading in like February 2013 so its safe to say you can start whenever you please. It goes more by what content you put out than when you put it out.
 
what all these peeps said! if you start today and be consistent with it ..then it really doesn't matter when! i don't think there really is a right time to do it...you will have videos that do well..and some that won't there are many speed bumps along the way but just push through all those and enjoy what you do!
 
The best time to create a channel and start making videos is when you're feeling enthusiastic about it.
It's not a competition so to speak :p
 
Start as soon as you can but try to upload as much as posible the more vids you got the bigger the change of them getting more views than you usali get :) so try to be daily uploader
 
As soon as possible is always the best time to launch a channel. Anything on YouTube can be watched at any time which is why it doesn't really matter what time you do things, you're not competing for a time slot, you're competing for exposure. You need to launch as soon as possible in order to start getting exposure.
 
its like buisness my friend the longer you wait the more money your missing out on. putting out content at certain times helps to like posting at 6am and 6pm is usually good times

I would argue the best time to start a channel would be..

Tuesday @ 3:30pm EST on any day in December
- Tuesday because that's the lowest "competition" day from big YouTubers (i've found)
- 3:30pm EST as it beats out most who post daily @ 3:00pm and yet you still have a large potential audience
- December as view rates and CPM's are the highest

Honestly though, quality and content will beat out those factors every minute of the day.
