What's Your Routine Before You Hit Record?

- Set up camera and tripod
- Sort composition and have best friend double-check the focus
- Make sure I'm happy with the crop and that my gosh darn microphone is switched on
- Mum, I know you wanted me to get a normal job but

I turn off any sound coming from places and make sure that my dish washer isn't active. And then I hit record. I live alone, so I don't need to worry about that.

So by what I have seen from the comments so far is that maybe having a place set aside to do videos wouldn't be a bad idea. The couple of you that live alone seem to have an advantage in that you don't have to pack up / set up when you have another video to shoot.

So I am starting to think that converting a corner of a bedroom into a shooting spot is looking like a good idea. Or maybe even a small spot in each area that is video safe for different types of videos and use the bedroom corner set up for the more serious talk type of videos.

Thanks for all the comments and ideas. I am finally getting to shoot some videos and doing the editing on a few of the takes.

Hopefully the first one will be done soon.
