What's up with YT subtitles?!!

Lately, I've been seeing more and more youtube videos get plagued by these illiterate subtitles that don't make any sense whatsoever. But it's not just words mashed up into unintelligible sentences - the words themselves are wrong. It's like someone is trolling us. So I wanna know who's making these subtitles? Is this official from Youtube and, if so, why didn't they hire people who actually know how to speak and spell?

Anyone else seen this?
 
YouTubers who create their videos have the option to upload the subtitles themselves and most of the time, the subtitles are correct.

However, the ones you're seeing right now is all automatic by YouTube's system and such. So basically whenever you turn on English subtitles (transcribe), it'll try to make sense of what they're trying to say in video (it's done very badly :P).

In conclusion, people are the not ones who made the subtitles in most cases. They're made by bots and yeah :)

Yeah but even if they're bots, it's complete amateur night. It's as if Youtube intentially hired the worst bot-maker around who can't spell even simple words like "ridiculous" and similar. It's like watching some chinese goldfarmer high on footsweat.
 
Ahahaha, I can see what you mean :P

I guess we would have to wait for the YouTube staff to get on their asses and fix up the bot's subtitling :) Although it has been like that for a long time now.

That happened to me on my last two videos. So I just removed the subtitles and am waiting patiently for this to be fixed....
This happened even when I typed out and uploaded my own subtitles!!!

Typing out your own subtitles is a good idea. Helps you rank higher in searches. Gives the search engine more opportunities to hit your keywords.
