Hey guys, I saw that there are a few little graphic shops on here, and I wondered if maybe I should sell some thumbnail creation services. I see there is a range in quality, so I whipped up 4 really fast to see what you guys think. Help me see if they are worth anything? Vote about what you would pay per CUSTOM thumbnail. My pricing would be cheaper if you needed a series of thumbnails from a single template.

As a professional, I first thought $50, then I saw what your poll asks. I guess if you're trying to freelance in the fivver-esque market then $4.00 per thumbnail should do. If you're trying to make a living then you can easily charge more, but maybe not $50 more.

Well. I was looking at what others charge here too. I think $5 is a bit much to ask for a single thumb nail only because I dont know if you'd really make that $5 back. Though if you think maybe I could market to a youtuber who is actually making money. Believe it or not, none of these took me very long at all.
 
My thumbnails are s**t (because i hate putting the effort) but i know enough to make thumbnails of this caliber, so none.

Most thumbnails, even great ones, don't take that long, nor should they. While most professional youtubers would either make their own thumbnails or have a full-time graphics artist to do all their art and animations, you could probably charge like $15 per image which is fair. Photographers charge like $10 to remove acne in post which literally takes a minute at most. However, ONLY offering thumbnail design as a service won't get you far, so you're probably gonna wanna target people on this forum who say they'll pay $1 at most which is unfortunate.

And since you asked for a reference of what others charge, I've never done a freelance thumbnail job before. The closest thing I've done is minimalist album art for an indie band, and I charged $80 for that given my experience at the time. And I create all my own thumbnails, which generally take 10 minutes to make, give or take.
