If you jump onto a cactus while saying funny stuff, I'd probably watch it

 Being original is a BIG thing for me on youtube and If you follow what other people want on your channel than it's not really your ideas. I would suggest just making whatever YOU want and your audience will probably like it.
On my channel I try to do gaming videos in different ways so they're different from the same old "Let's Play" format. Your videos are really entertaining and great quality so just keep making cool videos and people will like them! :wavespin:

The thing I tend to think is not what would interest other people, but what interests me. You can't please everyone, so trying to make videos that please "everyone" or "a large audience" isn't going to be a sustainable way of making videos. Since it's all just you and your camera, you have to figure out not only what you would like to see, but also what would be fun for you to make. Do a quick association..."If I had to film something right now, and I'd have a blast doing it, I'd...." and whatever comes to mind, use that.

I think we concentrate way too much on trying to gain an audience, which is important, I know, but if we're just chasing after views, a great deal of the joy of creation is lost, and I think that is a shame.

I agree to just make what you want. People will see you having fun doing what you want and that will draw them in more than trying to hard to please them. I do comedy and such as well and I just do whatever I feel like now or what pertains to me. I get ideas from work, home life, things I see. Every time I have an idea I write it down on a list. Like right now I have a list with my next 25 videos on it so I won't run out if things to do. My videos might come out super weird and not everyone will even think they are funny, but at least I'm having fun.

Thank you this really helped me out! I feel the same way about people who "Just do it for views" are not the best people for youtube and is it me or do they just hammer out bad content? Like im not talking about the big dogs of YouTube just like people who go on a video with a lot of views and "advertise" there channel? But again man thanks this actually really helped me put things in perspective!

Thank you this helped also! Same point as xingcat but it actually really helped me out!

I'm not trying to be harsh, but if you cannot think of ideas for your videos- what is the point of posting videos?
