What video editor do you use?

I'm a bit new to making videos and all that, I have made a few but they could be better.
Right now I'm using AVS video editor and for easier projects Windows Movie Maker.

The reason I wrote this thread is because I was wondering what video editors you use. I am mostly looking for something free, easy to use and to have an overlaying capability.

The free options are pretty limited unless you torrent of course. I started of with movie maker, (which was a rough program to say the least) then went to sony vegas and now have been on adobe premiere pro for about a year now. I wouldn't change pro for anything.

While not free, I use, Final Cut Pro, Sony Vegas and HitFilm as my main editors. HitFilm offers a completely free demo with no restrictions other than 30s time limit cap and standard definition output. If you're still learning you can play around on that demo for as long as you want.
 
I use Vegas 12 pro :) Been using vegas for ages now and I find it very suitable for me, as it is easy (for me atleast) to set it up and get going with rendering and such :)
