What to upload when you don't know what to upload?

So here I sit at 5PM, without having even started on a video. Usually it's uploaded (or at least almost finished) by now. I'm usually a daily uploader, and I feel uneasy if I don't upload. Not many really care if I don't, but I do.

I would have a few ideas, but it seems like I would just be making a video for the sake of making in video in these ideas.

I have writer's block in a sense, and knowing I won't be able to make any commentary in about 30 mins is putting on the pressure (I have guests coming over <.<).

The natural thing to do would be to not worry about it, take today off, etc... but I kinda feel like a brilliant idea isn't just gonna come to me, like I have to look for it, but I don't know where D:

While my channel is game-related, it's pretty rare for me to upload a let's play style video (unless it's the first video of a game). There's almost always a specific focus to the video, and those can be hard to come up with some days.

Ugh.

I do ytp style of videos so I follow/sub to a lot of other ytp-ers. What I tend to see when they haven't uploaded in a while is that they upload filler videos.

A filler video could just be a small clip of something small you made, maybe a sneak peak to coming videos, or you could just do bloopers or outtakes. People tend to like or at least be OK with those type of videos. I would try not to upload a lot of filler videos in a row or something.

Maybe you could start an outtake/blooper series on your channel so you could upload those if you didn't have anything else to upload.

Also I know what you mean by writers block I had it for like a month before I got another awesome idea, but sometimes you just gotta wait, maybe try something new or something.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

When I don't know what to upload, or i get kinda like "writers block" I tend to just film a video with me talking about it and trying to get some ideas from my subscribers about what sorta video to do next time. I'm not a daily uploader like you (I have no idea how you do that xD) but sometimes I struggle to upload twice a month because I run out of ideas. But it could help just doing a talking type thing to gain some ideas as I know it has helped me before.

I know that a lot of people upload tag videos, which are easy to make when you run out of ideas, since they have a set structure already in place and you just fill it in.

Do a quick video of you punching yourself in the balls, it will surprise people who normally watch your normal stuff.

I like the way you think
lol! The way I would do this would be like this. You'd suddenly see me just sit the camera down and then back up so I'm in the shot. I'd be like, "Hey guys, this is not like my normal content, but you guys deserve a bonus video... Here it goes" than POW!!! Then after seeing me collapse in pain I'd crawl to the camera and go "well, I hope you guys enjoyed that", then cut the video off. I don't care what kind of content people I'm subbed to make, if they did this I would not hold it against them lol.

Or you could try to make it a new "challenge" trend.

i have this exact problem i always struggle with ideas on what to do next for my channel
