What software do you use if you don't have a macbook?!

So, I was thinking a lot about this recently, and it seems that an awful lot of the bigger youtube vloggers have macbook pro's - and I'm sure there are plenty of people - not just me - that can't afford a macbook or an apple mac.
So I wondered, what is the best software to use if you just have a regular, standard laptop. Now I've used movie maker, but I find it a bit naff.....and recently in my last few videos, I have been using the youtube editor because I find it a little easier to find my way around it.
Any thoughts/ tips/ suggestions/ reviews on this?

We use Adobe Premiere and all of the Production Premium Suite. It comes for both Mac & PC, and it is great!

MattBarnardMusic thanks for the suggestion I'll look into that one :)

HenronStudios is it expensive software?? I know a lot of the adobe products can be a little pricey. :3

We were able to get the whole Production Premium CS6 Suite for a little over $400 because we qualified for student pricing.

Lots of bigger YouTubers have MacBooks because they look good, are trendy and they can afford it :p
Try Vegas, Lightwork or VirtualDub maybe?

I use mostly premiere, I have cs5 so photoshop and after effects too. I do want a MacBook Pro someday if I have that much money
