What should I make videos about if I'm...

...poor and sick? I can't do those "look at what I bought" etc. videos that seem to be so popular, and I'm currently in hospital anyway. You might think, "just make videos about being poor and/or sick", but I don't want to come over as seeking pity. I really don't want pity. I want to make videos but I'm lost as to what to do/talk about.

what are you into? what are your hobbies? what did you study in college? what do you do for work? what are your past experiences?

No one here can tell you what channel to do because we don't know what your past experiences are. we don't know your likes or dislikes. we don't know your hobbies. we don't know what your interests are. we don't know what you do for work or your area of expertise. Maybe you've been a stay at home mother for the last 10 yrs. if so.. maybe start a parenting channel?

only you can answer these questions and figure out what type of channel you want to do.

Find something positive to talk about! It is easy to latch onto the negativity in your life. And I have done so myself numerous times in the past. And even now the negativity takes over at times. That's just life. I did however make the decision to keep things positive on YouTube. There is enough negativity in the world already, you need not add to it. If I feel down I don't work on YouTube. Negativity has a tendency to leach into your content.

Are you able to watch any stuff on TV while in hospital? If so, you could film reviews. Reviews of popular shows are really popular on YouTube these days, so it's an easy way to get some content.

Honestly if youre in the hospital i wouldnt be worried about making videos. The way you are describing your current situation is (no offense) depressing. People will not watch your videos if they make people feel bad. I would try to make a positive spin on your situation, and even take a break until your out of the hospital. Then do vlogs from your local park, or food reviews (arent to expensive). Just try to engage your audience in a positive direction.

I've moved your thread to the ideas forum.

An idea: Ask a doctor or nurse if they'd like to do an interview Q&A type thing. That'd be pretty unique and upbeat. Good luck and I hope you're feeling better soon. :)

If you are in the hospital then talk about your life in the hospital, why are you there although that's a bit of personal but what important is, start with whatever you have. I remember when I started, I have nothing except for my camera, my camera is not even a dslr but those first people who watched it, they like it and had interest in watching my content even if it was one of the crapiest video they've ever seen and for other people that video maybe just got a small amount of views compare to other but still that video started with nothing except my camera. What I learned while making videos are these: Content is important, second, if you don't have everything maybe you have a personality that will make you stand out. Each of us have our own unique personality just show them who you are. Viewers doesn't like people who are fake and they can sense it if you are.

Tell a story, talk about your favourite things, give your opinion on something you've seen...there's so many things that you can do without having to refer to the fact that you're sick :)
