What should I do?

Hello,

I have a channel with 30k subscribers that in the last couple of years is really doing well ($$$). I have been approached by several networks, most recently RPM and BBTV. They present exciting benefits and support, but it reminds me a bit too much about how Hollywood used to work: Some rich company discovers talent, promises to put your name up in lights, gets a bunch of movies out of you, takes the money, and some win, and some lose.

I'm just not sure if I'm better off on my own like I have always been, or if there is $$$ and opportunities to be had with a partnership.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Some big channels have advised me never to join a network. Some have fought to get out of their contract and are now earning more without the network than with them, even though they promise to put premium adds on your videos. I don't know what you should do, their benefit of signing you is clear, but yours isn't really...

I think at 30k subs you have proven that you can make it on your own (if you haven't already). Do you miss anything that a network offered to you?

30k subs omg I think if don't have problem with AdSense (monetize your video) go with AdSense.

There are only really 3 things.

One: Sometimes I have problems with my account and YouTube support is, let's just say, less than stellar. Networks claim to have contacts that can help fix problems.

Two: Supposedly you can make more money with networks. Really?

Three: Most of the really popular networks are partnered with networks, but I am not sure if that is really has anything to do with there success, but there is the illusion that networks will take you to the big time.

If you have more than 15,000 hours of watch time within the last 90 days you qualify for direct partner support.

For the really big guys - yes. But these would also be treated better by YouTube.

They get special deals.

As for me, I don't see any reason to join Network. It's very unlikely that they will boost your channel or sell more ads comparing to AdSense.

PS: I would join MCN only if they add their promises into the contract.
