What piece of advice on branding has helped you most?

I feel like sometimes some pieces of advice stick with you more than others, just curious what stuck with you guys!

For me, I think the idea of keeping one consistent channel/username stuck (although still working on that..)

Staying true to your content is a good piece of advice in my opinion. Having a consistent theme of videos is better for branding than graphics and stuff like that.

I agree that consistency is important. The whole point of branding is to build up a mental / visual "link" between the brand name (username) and logo with the product (the YouTube videos and the YouTuber him/herself). When successful, people only need to see the name and/or logo to think of the videos and creator. It's very difficult / impossible to build up that mental link if the creator keeps changing the username and logo. ^^ There's a reason big corporations never change their name and very rarely change their logo. :)

Something I learned:

A good logo is one that
represents the channel content,
looks good (obv),
but most importantly, catches the eye / attention even in the smaller version used in comments.

In fact I'd say "catching the eye / attention" is the most important. - The logo is used in all sorts of places - not just the big version on the channel homepage. It's used in comments on other channel's videos, replies on the creator's channel and also in the alerts sent to YouTubers you interact with. It needs to be big and bold, bright colours etc. It needs to catch the eye even in its smallest version used in comments.

I thing branding is important.Sometime it helps you to get some extra subs.So it' really important to have an eye catching banner & profile. You can also make a logo as a trademark for your channel. And an intro help you to add a little bit of presentation on your videos as well as it's all important for branding. These make your channel professional to a viewers :)
