What makes a good channel trailer?

I've been knocking around some ideas in my head of what makes a good trailer for your channel but want to know what others think a channel trailer should be? I honestly think that for gaming channels it shouldn't be a bunch of clips with you talking about what you think you're channel is but instead should be just a quick glimpse into what your channel consists of with no added summary. Let the audience get they're own idea of what your channel is, if that makes sense. I have no idea for other types of channels though. What do you all think?

I think a solid trailer should be about 10-20sec. Should consist of about a dozen attractive people, pillow fighting while wearing nothing but the bare minimum. Film the whole thing in slow motion and you are gold. Fits any channel[DOUBLEPOST=1449551361,1449550923][/DOUBLEPOST]On a serious note. It's your channel, make it into your own.

Just set the point across. Tell something about your channel or something so random that they would be interested to look your content. In the end, just be yourself and have fun making it, don't worry too much about how it would look.

True enough

Basic guidelines that may help:
  • Keep in short and simple (>30-40 seconds is good).
  • Inform people what your channel is about and a shortened manner
  • Take your time with it & be creative!

I think channel trailer is different than video-intro. The goal of channel trailer is promote your YouTube channel to viewers that will enjoy and engage with your videos, so it is your channel Ad where as video intro is kind of animated channel logo which should be few seconds.

Your channel ads should be short video clips that give a preview of what your channel is about. Be sure to make your first 5 seconds really good. i believe, the ad duration should not exceed 3 minutes because very long trailer might make your audience feeling bored.

this is what i have on mind and good luck

With the channel trailer, there are only a few factors you would need to keep in mind. That is keeping it short, for the audience who will most likely have short attention spans, being creative with it to keep them interested, as well as being informative, telling your audience, what you are going to be doing. Those are a few you will certainly need to know.
