I have a way to do this but there are always was to do it better. What is your voice audio work flow. Here is mine. I would be happy to hear suggestions on better ways to do this.
I have a Panasonic Lumix G85
Set Mic Level limiter on
Mic Level Adjust to -1
I have a Rode Video Micro external mic
Record conversation
Bring it into Final Cut
Normalize Peaks to -1db
Then I use audio compressor to raise the softest voices with the threshhold being at -14 dbs. Then I use Noise Gate to lower the volume of sounds under 15db by 5 db. If I lower the soft sounds by 100 db is sounds weird.
Then I use not the audio compressor plugin, but the video compressor program to change the audio from stereo to mono. I figure it should be mono because I am only using one mic
