Ever since I joined a network I have gotten A LOT of people asking me to join theres.

Weird.

but I got one that really looked odd

Is this a normal thing? Can people really buy your videos?

That's insane. I don't even know how much they would even offer.

Has anyone done this before? or got a message from them?

That sounds like a bad deal, to be honest. Kinda like how Tolkien sold the rights to Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit for $10,000 before they blew up.

They pay you a small amount and then you get no further payout. If something goes viral they win.

I used to get such emails from different NETWORKS for one of my Old channels. I didn't respond to them because I don't trust them. They might be scam or fraud, so to avoid that, I ignore such emails. Don't be surprised by their deals. However you can research about their Networks, see the testimonials, once you start trusting them, then you can go ahead and join the better Network.
 
It does give them better incentive to push you video though, the reward for them is greater. So if they somehow pushed a video to viral status you could walk away with a load of new subs and exposure because they say it doesn't affect your future videos. I imagine that your current network would have something to say about it though. And I would read every word of the terms and conditions.

I wouldn't go for it I don't think.
 
It's not a network, sounds like they want to license one video.
JukinVideo, ViralSpril, Rumble etc < Those companies all do the same thing. They go for viral videos or potentially viral.
