What is this claim video option?

Hey everyone yesterday I received an email stating that machinima would like me to join its network, so I accepted and since I have there is now a copyright logo button that says not claimed, what is this? I have clicked it on two of my videos they now say claimed. However this triangle pops up and says to best manage your claims, please visit your claims and policies in CMS. So I click the claims button and it takes me to youtube content manager and it says that my google account is not linked with youtube content manager. Do I need to set this up to monetize my videos? and if so how do I go about signing up to it? I am a bit confused with all this.

Ok so this actually happened to me..

What the claims button is - is for when you claim something to be monetized. It will tell you if it is monetized or not.

If you have a video that was being 'reviewed' for copywrite content and you are accepted into a network, it gets put in this weird weird loop that doesn't allow you to effect it or claim it for money. If you're other videos are able to be monetized, just shoot a letter to Machinima and they can clear it up..

And while I am told you have joined what is essentially the devil of networks (TM) - congrats on being partnered! :)

Thanks man, all of my videos are like that :/ looks like I will have to send a email to get them to sort it. Why is it considered the devil of networks? I thought they are considered the best. All of the videos I have watched about people who are partnered with them say it's very good but hard to get into. I have no idea how I got accepted with 134 subs lol.

I was mostly joking. I have heard both bad and good things about Machinima. :) It's all about what you want and want to get out of your network. Congrats again! I also hope it all gets sorted

lol my bad I got worried for a second. I just wanna grow my channel as big as it can get really so I thought machinima would be a good start. Although I don't actually think it is gonna make much difference lol.
