What happens if you need to edit an already uploaded video?

So I noticed most people here use video editing software before uploading their videos to YouTube.

I personally don’t do much editing and rely on my phone or Youtube’s own studio software.

My question is: let us say you made a lot of edits to your videos and uploaded it and then published your video. What happens if you want to edit it again ? Obviously you can still edit it using YouTube studio. But what if you need to edit using your own video editing software ? Would you be able to do that and upload a new version?

Well, first of all, to answer your question, yes, you can always upload a new version of your old videos. Youtube will only block you from uploading if it detects that your new upload is 100% identical to a previous video on your channel. The slightest edit means it isn't a match.
