What does the YouTube Law say about Covers?

TA5

Hit your two hands together for TA5!!!
So heres the deal :D:D:D

I am thinking about doing covers of famous songs!
Now the question is, just like there are long rules for gameplay monetization....

There should be long rules for Covers too, right?

Apparently I cant find anything on Google that tells me what the rules for Covers are......most of the articles are 3-4 years old

I think you need a Mechanical, and Sync License to put a cover on YouTube??
I recently heard that YouTube now provides blanket license for songs (so u dont have to pay for licenses??)...............and then you can share revenue with the owner?

Right now, i think the process to put covers on YouTube is (correct me if i am wrong)

1-Record cover
2-Put it on YouTube (With Karaoke Music??)
3-Wait for Content ID claim, then choose the option to share revenue......If there is none, then remove the video?
4-Wait for Review?
5-Share revenue??

I havent created the Cover channel yet, but i will , if it seems feasible , inexpensive and non-dangerous(copyright strike)

So HELP ME,,,......My dear FRIENDS!:wavespin::wavespin::wavespin::wavespin::wavespin:

You don't even need to share your revenue if you remix the music samples you know, remix's are all done under Creative Commons I believe! Lots of big youtubers use real music in their videos by just using a remixed sample of it!

So my process is correct?
I dont want to get a copyright strike............. :(
So i can use Karaoke Music by changing its pitch ,amplitude etc??? Normally i see people in covers normally sing with their own guitars and such................why dont they use guitars?

I need first hand Experience
Do i need to join Fullscreen to be Copyright free?

This is the correct process; you don't have to remove the cover though, it's just going to be claimed by the label in most cases. Only a few select Record Labels are opting in their artist's songs into YouTube's cover revenue scheme. More info here: https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/3301938

you don't have to remove the cover though,.

But that would be risking a copyright strike, wouldnt it? :/
Lets suppose i get big, i wouldnt be able to afford a copyright strike then ,right? :help:

How can i find out which ones? This feature seems to be new, theres not much about it on Google :/
There are gonna be, Katy Perry, Timberlake, Christina Aguilera, Rihanna songs right?

I really wouldnt want to join FAM FULSCREEN to start my cover channel
They take like, 20 percent of your revenue...........................................:stomp:

Another Important thing...............How much % of my revenue do you think, will YouTube give to the artist?
If its like more than 20 %, i would rather join FULLSCREEN than this........:banghead:
FULLSCREEN gives the licenses for free right? Or does it take seperate revenue to the artist too? :confusedphones:

Whats your say about all this? :D

you can not create remixes on YouTube. The YouTube license agreement signed with the NMPA does not allow remixes or any derivative works.
