What do you do with your raw footage?

Unless you tons of hard drives, your space is going to run out at some point. Especially when filming HD, your hard drive space can go very quickly.

So what do you do with the raw footage after you have uploaded the final product?

Since I record game footage, my final product is often the very similar to the raw footage. It's mostly just a matter of pasting things together. So I tend to delete old footage and projects and just store the original video file that goes on Youtube somewhere safe.

I've wondered what other people do with their raw footage too. I tell myself to delete them, but sometimes I'm afraid I'll need the raw footage in the future so I don't. It started taking up too much space on my laptop, so I went and bought an external hard drive loool

i delete them after i know the vid is ok but i try to keep as much as i can for later incase i need it for background footage or something

I save the footage on my storage discs because I know that I will need them for intro's and other stuff.

I think I've got around 2TB atm

I keep it, will have to delete some soon enough though, maybe from my oldest work, it's really starting to take up space

So far keeping them. Have 1 TB on my new mac mini. Getting a second mac mini by xmas with another TB. I do 1 vid per week and they are only about 1-2 gb each.

I would love to make movies that the raw footage only takes up 1-2gb each :D .. My gameplay footage takes like 30-40gb per episode and I release about 3 per week.
