Orange on black sounds good! (I have a graphic design qualification btw) Almost anything on black looks professional and 'pops'. Personally I love white writing on a vibrant colour. ie) green. But you could put it on red, blue, purple etc. See my channel for reference if you want :3

There have actually been indepth research on this. Countrywide, 'Exit', and other reality companies are most known for this as they utilize signs. You'll see some of the most ugly signs, but it is because they draw peoples attention. It depends on what you want - Some Gnarly colors that will draw attention but aren't 'aesthically' pleasing is Green and Yellow.. If you want more pleasing Dark blue as a background to bright red..
