Hi,
I was wondering to get some ideas on how a toy review can be made more interesting than the presently floating videos on youtube.
What would you like to see in it?
With minimal use of after effects.Like a real next door people.

Hi Ozisonshine,

I find that i end up doing a lot of editing (which of course means a lot of cutting out).
One of the things I have learned along the way is to keep changing up the video footage. Everyone has short attention spans nowadays, so changing the camera angle or zooming in or out so that we are not constantly focusing on the same spot helps to make it pace better. It also helps to help the audience see specifically what you want them to see. So if you have kids showing a toy, when you want your audience looking at the toy zoom in on the toy. When you want them looking at the child zoom in on the child etc.. Using fun commentary can definitely help, too. Just keep the conversation flowing.

Watching popular Youtubers to see what they are doing, and what keeps their subscribers engaged helps me a lot.

Hope this helps :)

Well I was looking at completely new way of doing things around rather than show the toy on the table and talk about it... I hope you get what I want to say.. I am trying something out..on my next one.. so thinking a lot of new way to do it right... I get your points too.. thanks for that.

How good are you with After Effects? There are a lot of things you can do with that. 3D? Make the toys float around in an animated background. Put floating text around it? Maybe use a green screen and put yourself as a shrunken person interacting with the toy?

I'm a big fan of stop motion videos. How about you do a short segment where the toys "come to life" after you do the review? A 1-minute video would take about 45 minutes to make. All you do is move the characters and take pictures. You can even use an app to make it.

Thanks for the idea...
