What can i use to record my screen?

For computers, you can pay for Fraps, which is pretty simple and kind of worth it.. No watermarks when you pay, and unlimited recording.
However, for consoles, you will need to get an HD PVR and learn how to use it. Good luck on recording, fellow gamer.

Fraps will only record in-game.

If you want to do something like record your desktop. You can use an HDPVR as well, which also record gameplay with no FPS drop. Just plug it in Via HDMI. But thats around $150. It is also is a good live streaming tool.

Another option is Camtasia Studio. Which allows you to select custom areas on your screen to record. Very useful

Wait a second...you can record your laptop with that?! I thought it was only Xbox/ps3

Nah it records Xbox, Ps3, Wii and PC. All you need is the right adapter. Xbox 360 and Ps3 is basic. But there is a Wii to HDMI adapter you can get for like $20. That allows you to now record Wii gameplay with an HDPVR.

Same goes with Laptops. I havent looked into hooking it up to a laptop. But MANY sources say it is possible. So i would look into it. If you have a desktop computer, then it is %100 possible. If you have an HDMI port in the back, and a HDMI port on your monitor. Then you are all set.

Well Fraps can record your Desktop as well. As long as you have DWM checked :)
 
Fraps is great! BB flasback pro has also worked fine for me. I love its small but simple editor and the fact that it records keyboard inputs.
