What are some good ways to promote a gaming channel?

they are for youtube video makers specialising in gaming, they've helped alot with my confidence to keep doing what i love doing and they are helpful in helping me grow, i'm just trying to take advantage of any other options that are out there haha :)
Okay cool i wil join them to then, thanks

I tend to join forums which are specific to the games I have been uploading and commentating on such as Fifa or COD, It always helps but does take time as you need to build a good standing within the forum community!

Looks like you've already covered collaborations, but for me what helped me get started was to get people I knew in real life or friends I had to subscribe and be active viewers. Try to have as high quality video and audio as you can, too. I must admit for myself I've been slacking on not uploading in HD, but I really should.
Also, I know it is tough sometimes to come up with entertaining commentary, but what I found that helped to be entertaining was to be more informative on the game and try to give info and be more tutorial-ish.
Editing is HUGE, especially when it comes to gamers. If and when you have dull moments in your videos, edit them out. Make a jump cut or some sort of transition, but viewers want to see the most fun, entertaining, and action packed parts of your videos, not necessarily the more dull parts.
I've been doing the whole gaming commentator thing for a while now, so if you have any more questions, lemme know!

thanks so much that's really helpful :) i've been thinking about editing out the more dull bits lately, but then i realise if i edit out say all the bits where i dont really talk, it may edit out a vital clue or something that i missed in game but someone else notices and comments to let me know thats just one example but you get what i mean?
