What are some good On-Screen recording software?

I've Got It
I'm going to be doing some Sony Vegas and Photoshop tutorials very soon. Which On-Screen recording software do you guys use and would suggest/recommend for PC? Preferably.. free ones.

P.S. What's the proper term for 'On-Screen recording'? I just made that up to describe the best way possible.

I havent really used the free ones before but I do use Camtasia Studio myself and it is spot on, no quality issues at all, the text is clear, everything is so clear on it and its very simple to use. I think the term is just screen recording.

If it has to be Free:

CamStudio or Jing would be a good Start I assume.

As soon as you can spent some Money for it:

I would second Camtasia Studio. We are using it for every Tutorials we are creating for the other Departments and even it isn`t cheap once you get used to it you won`t regret the investment of those $300.

You can download the Trial Version here and the Tutorials can be found here.

My Screen Recorder is one of the best screen recording tools. Records your screen and audio from the speakers or your voice from the microphone - or both simultaneously. It's easy to use, and the recordings look great

I'd suggest Bandicam - it performs just as well as fraps, at least in my opinion. (That's to say - if you can't see any frameskipping as you're recording the video, you won't have a shock when you watch the recording back), and its free trial is much more reasonable.
The fraps free trial watermarks the recording and limits you to 30 seconds, whereas the bandicam free trial is more like 10 minutes (which is fine for most tutorials and Minecraft videos, for instance). It does still put a watermark in the centre of the video, at the top, but you can easily cover this up with a logo or username, or subscribe button when you're editing (or even an annotation, after you've uploaded). I don't think it's illegal to cover the watermark, or anything like that - it's just intended as an inconvenience to make you buy the full version.
After you've got used to the free trial, you'll probably want to buy the full version, and I don't think it's very expensive, at least compared to some things...
I've successfully recorded some Minecraft videos with the full version of Bandicam, which my brother bought recently.

My screen recorder is the perfect screen recording software that will easily capture and record the entire screen or selected screen activity to videos in WMV or AVI video files. A unique feature of My Screen Recorder is the ability to capture the audio from your speakers and the microphone simultaneously.

Microsoft encoder is a really good one! You can get a free trial wich is as good as full version but you can only record 10 min.
