What are peoples opinions of the RODE Video Mic Go?

Hey guys!

So I recently bought the rode video mic go for youtube (my mum is giving it to me as a graduation present) it should be arriving tomorrow (12th May)

I heard so many good reviews about it and was recommended it by so many other youtubers, so I thought I would give it a go, and I'm really excited as I have constantly been plagued by audio issues due to my in camera microphone being so bad.

However now I am starting to panic, I originally bought another microphone (originially £90 and was dropped to about £19 on amazon) and I don't know if it was the camera I own (Canon 600D) or the microphone itself but for something that was meant to be originally that expensive, it was awful it actually amplified the background noise so badly that getting rid of it caused awful distortion to my voice, and in the end I gave up using it, and I'm really worried this one is going to be the same. I am now starting to see bad reviews for the same microphone I just bought

I know there is a more expensive version but I really cannot afford it right now, and I'm worried I am going to have the same problem, because the canon 600D is known to not be good audio wise for video, but I bought it before I started doing youtube again so at the time it wasn't something I worried about, and obviously I cannot afford to buy a new one right now, its a bit like being in a vicious circle as I need more subscribers and views to be able to afford it but I can't get those without quality content which obviously includes audio.

Anyway sorry for the ranting and back to the question at hand, what have peoples experiences been with this microphone?

PS: Also if anyone has a canon 600D (sorry cant remember the name of the camera in the US) and has experience with it and this microphone or just audio in general please reply thankyou! :)
