What are some good branding techniques and tools that you use for your growing channel? Any tips for a channel in its infancy?

Good channel art, good personality to show (maybe it is being funny or a angry one) and staying consistent with your channel maybe uploading daily, plus playing enjoy stuff.

Kind Regards

You need a really good YouTube layout because that's the first thing people see, you can use the tool "TubeBuddy" it's also really helpful :)
Use good thumbnails / titels , this all worked good for me

Great advice. Although, uploading daily may be a bit challenging for some. Creating a realistic schedule you can stick to is important. And not making promises to your subscribers that you can't deliver. I see some YouTubers promise videos on certain days of the weeks and their channels suffer if they don't follow through:p

Nice looking thumbnails for sure. A nice banner doesn't hurt and most importantly just great personality! And being active on forums and such.

I think the most effective thing to do is being active in communities and on forums. Combined with a professional look on your page, it is bound to attract some viewers. People are more likely to give you feedback if you are active with giving feedback. And so far, I have found that those views are what you need in the beginning.

You can do whatever you want, do something you would love to do, because if you don't, you're probably going to quit. Make some good looking Thumbnails, make it different than the others because people will click faster on your video if the thumbnail is different than the others, and Tags/titles are important to.
