Hi,

Just logged into my Youtube account today and noticed that there is an option to 'Accept' terms relating to a (new?) Youtube partnership program.

It's under a new tab called 'monetization'. I've already been monetizing for years ... what is this?

I got an E-mail from my MCN (Curse Union For Gamers) about it aswell.

Is it safe to simple accept this? I'm guessing its the whole Youtube red thing?

I believe it has something to do with youtube red, a month has passed by since the launch and all partners are going to have to accept the new terms and conditions.
 
"As part of our ongoing efforts to help you achieve your digital goals, we have worked with YouTube to include you in the YouTube Partner Program. As a part of this program, you will gain access to new features as they become available, such as revenue sharing for cover songs."

This is what I got from makers. If I am not mistaken they are doing what nintendo is doing with their content so they can get money as well. This will help people who do covers so instead of getting copyright strikes on their channels they will get a claim and get a revenue share with the original artist.

Same here, I read somewhere else it might be just an update of the terms because of the implementation of Youtube Red and consequential earnings, anyway I'll wait a reply from my manager before accepting anything
 
I just got this too, and am also with Fullscreen. As far I can see re-accepting the terms didn't change anything I had previously done (no need to resubmit for monetization, everything is still the same in "status and features" etc.).

I am leaving my contract by Feb though so I don't know if that has anything to do with it. I'd like if getting that message means I'm a direct YT partner again (to save a little bit of the hassle of the transition back).

Maybe Fullscreen will send a mass e-mail about this soon or something. I dunno.
 
I literally just got the same message pop up :D I plan to leave it until someone explains what it's all about. I'm partnered with Freedom so it can't just be a thing that they've done as you're with fullscreen...

My contract is up next August so pretty sure it's not about that
