Webcam Recorder?

So I am looking for a webcam recorder, since upgrading to Windows 10 I don't have movie maker which I used to use.

Can anyone recommend a program that I can use my webcam to record my face?

If you right-click in the white box under Sources > Video Capture Device, then a device selection box will open and you can select your camera

For some reason it records the file as FLV format, and cant change it, any ideas why that is?

Hmm well I went into my settings and had a look. You can see if yours are setup similar:
Encoding - Encoder: x264
Broadcast Settings - Mode: File Output Only; File Path: C:\[whatever path you want]\[some filename].mp4
