hey gang we just launched our new family channel OurMonkeysOurCircus. We did adsecnce and monetized. Is there anything else you suggest we should do right at the beginning? I have been researching and see so many opinions but none of it seems to be right at the beginning.
 
Make sure your tags and description match your videos and are as thorough as possible, encourage your visitors to comment and reply to them, and try to promote your video (without spamming) anywhere you can where appropriate.

I hear tags don't matter as much on optimization as title and description. you said anywhere appropriate? What are your top 3 places to market your videos?

Outside of YouTube, nobody fully knows how much weight each thing carries...and they're constantly changing their alagorithms.

It's best to utilize every tool they give to the best of your ability.

I have no clue what your market is, but I can only assume it's vastly different than mine...so the places and forums I go to promote myself would do very, very little for you.
 
I think before even thinking of opening an Adsense account, you should at the very least reach the 10k views per day, otherwise you'll get your priorities wrong. Way better to just focus on engaging your target audience at first, and then when you get momentum you can start thinking of monetizing and stuff (which opens an entire different can of worms with tax and stuff)

But that's just me.
 
I have seen a lot of people saying not to even bother monetirizing videos until your big or close to being big enough to get enough views. Nobody wants to sit through a commercial to see a video from soneone they have never heard of, i wouldnt anyway
