Warming up to DxTory

I've Got It
So after using fraps for so long, and previously trying to get dxtory to work and having horrible results, I was finally able to get some decent footage using the Lagarith Lossless codec. It seems DxTory has a harder time recording in 1080p 60 frames per second for me compared to fraps, but having the ability to separate my audio streams is invaluable.

Maybe part of the reason is that maybe its time to replace my Radeon HD 5850 card lol, or maybe I just need a sata 3 recording hard drive. I'm assuming upgrading my video card would make a huge difference

First of all. You really don't need to record in 60 fps. YouTube encodes it to 30 fps.

If it tanks your system you should lower it to 30 fps.

I do think DxTory is very CPU dependant, could be wrong. What CPU you got?
Also, you can always bump down to 720p, what game you recording?

I'm running an i7 3770k @ 3.9, one thing I just noticed under advanced settings is that processing threads were set to one. The cpu is hyper threaded, so I'll set it to 8 and adjust from there (if it does anything)

set it to a bit lower, you don't want ALL threads to be used by the program :p

Anyways, as I said in other topic: if You don't have best hardware, You could try out Action! Mirilis soft. It's way less hardware dependant than Fraps and possibly DxTory. And as I remember files take less place than Lagarith Codec files.
You can get trial from their site (with watermark ofc, so just to try out).

What write speed should I be looking for with 1080p? Currently I'm getting 101 mb/seconds, for the most part 30 fps seems to work well.
