Vlogging in public - legal in shops?

Are you allowed to vlog in public shops etc and put on YouTube? Do you need special permission?

It's okay to vlog and record at a public place but just to be safe do ask the person-in-charge there but I think they'll be glad to let you do so since you're showing their place in your video anyways! :) Good luck!

I've been kicked out in the past for filming in a random location for school projects and such

I've definitely filmed inside stores for some videos. Never outright vlogging, though. Like talking to the camera? I would die of awkwardness long before anyone else would try to stop me lol

I doubt it's illegal, though. Worst case is a store policy and they'll ask you to leave.

I have done it in the past. I didn't ask permission and just went ahead. If there are any problems you can always get rid of the video after they crop up. I doubt anyone will give 2 doodoo's tho.

I don't think it's illegal, just mega awkward if you're not used to vlogging in public yet haha. If they do have problems of it whatsoever, you can just delete the footage or edit it :) I've vlogged or attempted to vlog before in many shops, no one had a problem with it.... they did however just stare at you like you're a freak lol

I would just ask to be safe. Family owned shops will be a lot more accepting than any corporate store. Although some managers of those types of store can be cool with it.

Yeah, it'll just depend on how cranky the manager is/how disruptive you are. Legally, you would need permission, but if you're just vlogging, it shouldn't be much of a problem. If you're rolling with a five man crew, jib, lighting rigs, steadicam, and boom operator, then you may have an issue...
