vlog topics

From what I have seen, you can vlog about ANYTHING. Pets, weather, feelings, games, parents... just choose something you want to talk about and do it. Gotta find your voice somehow. :thumbsup2:
 
I would completely agree with Dax on this one. You can vlog on literally any topic. The key isn't finding interesting topics, its about making topics interesting.

Making something rather mundane interesting, perhaps it is worth reading up on storytelling formula/construction. Researching craft can help you to create an interesting POV and that is what will bring your audience in! :)
 
Some generalized topics:

- things that you like
- hobbies, food, sports, etc.​
- things that annoy you (AKA go on a rant about something)
- [funny] observations/generalizations you've noticed about __________ (fill in the blank)
- e.g. things that women do that men don't understand (or vice versa), etc.​
- YOUR LIFE
- literally what changes, challenges/milestones, etc. that you've gone through or are going through
- funny stories from your own life​
- pop culture
- make fun of celebs or something​
- recent events


It's always good to draw some inspiration from other vloggers that you really enjoy as well! (As long as you're not blatantly copying them, of course.)

I have a google doc that I frequently update with topics that I want to do vlogs on, whether it be on a movie, game or something that happened in the week that I want to talk about. Sometimes something happens in a week that would make for a good vlog topic so you could be both topical and entertaining.

If you're a comedian vlogger, I'd say to focus on being topical so people will keep their interest in the video. Try looking through some headlines of news articles and find something that you want to talk about. It doesn't have to be serious news either, you can look through an entertainment section or a gaming news website. Just look around to see what's current so you can base your material off of that.

I use this exact method. I am planning a lot of parody videos too, so its a good place to write your script, desired shots, etc.
