Vlog Ideas for a Gaming Channel

With all of my traveling lately for the holidays, it's been hard to put out videos consistently when I'm away from my Desktop and can't record gaming videos. I have a laptop but it doesn't run anywhere near good enough to record gameplay.

Thus, I wanted to start making vlogs to fill up the empty video space. They are much easier to record and edit so I can make them faster when I'm short on time. I've even had people requesting I make more vlogs. My question is, what kinds of vlogs do you like seeing on a gaming channel?

I love unboxing stuff you know, to see what people have and how it looks etc. And i love when i listen something about gaming news. :)

To be honest, I think it's okay if you don't talk about games. It's your channel. You're not a website like Gamespot or something. Some weird, cool, or funny stuff could happen this Christmas and if you're just limited to "I have to talk about games", then your subscribers may miss out on some stuff. Of course unless you already have another channel for all that stuff, then just ignore what I said. :)

Hmm I think vlog about your every day life.. like things that take you away from gamming so people get to know you as a person not just as a gamer.

Talk about the other hobbies you have, maybe do a few tags so that people can learn a bit more about you etc. Or, if you follow gaming news, you could maybe talk a little bit about your opinions on certain stories.

First and foremost I agree with sentimentality of it being your channel, though if you do have a gaming channel it is understandable you want to stick with the theme. I guess you have basic stuff like your favourite games/characters and such. Other things could do are Vlogs about specific games, talk about game experiences (eg First game you played, first game you finished), games you're excited for, game merch. Of course with a fandom as expansive as gaming, that should serve as a good start.

Or once again just vlog about you want to vlog about.

Piggybacking off of this, I think it could be a good idea to do a "Top 10" kind of vlog. I always get sucked into watching Top 10 or Top 5 lists one after another and they seem to be a good way to get a conversation started. People are likely to post whether they agree or disagree with a list and it allows you or others to chime in and keep coming back to the video for conversation, if anything.

Just a thought... I also could have absolutely no idea what I'm talking about. :)

From my experience of watching other YouTubers it was always nice for a vlog of them to be about something thats happening in their lifes, whats going to happen or a story on what has already happened usually something funny or just a story, a vlog isnt fun to watch if the vlogger doesnt know what to say its just sort of awkward at that stage

When it comes to Vlogs and stuff on a gaming channel or even a channel based off of vlogs i enjoy mostly watching what those people do in each day of which they post a VLOG so like say if you went on a trip i'd be interested to watch a video of what you did that day and stuff, Maybe you could select a topic to talk about in the gaming community? for example "My Opinion On The Xbox One" or something.
