Viewer Retention?

This is something I'm REALLY struggling with. My average viewer retention is less than 2 minutes. Is there any way to help with this? I know my newest videos are just one long recording with no set intro in between (which I know is bad :( ) I'm trying so hard at this and I know there's a learning curve to everything.

But are there any other tips to helping with viewer retention? I have a feeling if I'm able to get that number up some I might be able to generate more views and whatnot.
 
I think you have a typo in your banner... "you're home for casual gaming" doesn't really make sense. It's like saying "you are home for casual gaming". Did you mean "your home"?

You should look into using audacity noise removal on your mic audio. It's really simple and will get rid of all the background noise (you can hear what sounds like a computer fan running nearby, or static). That's one thing that might be driving people away early in the video, since listening to that for an extended period of time can be frustrating.

One of the best pieces of advise I try to give gamers is people want to watch entertainers, not gamers. It isn't enough to play a game and talk about yourself or the game, people want to be entertained. Video games are just the subject matter and a tool to accomplish this.

I've had that banner up for like a week now and none of my friends have said anything to me about the typo in there that I NEVER noticed. Thank you for pointing it out to me.

I actually just got a stand for my Snowball mic and a pop filter so I can start to use that so it'll be closer to me. The static sound in the minecraft recordings ends after the 6th part. I have actually started to use audacity. I played with it some today and did a noise profile thing. I have a window AC unit in my room that was being picked up in the background. If I turn it off, the temperature skyrockets and then I'd have a lot of heat problems for my computer.[DOUBLEPOST=1433129220,1433129094][/DOUBLEPOST]I feel like a total dipstick for that simple typo in the banner that I never noticed :banghead:
