Videos (complete or splitted?)

Hi,
I have a good concept for a new youtube channel where I wanna share knowledge in my expertise. The "introduction part" to get people started who are interested is about 20 minutes long.

So I need some advice right now, if I should split the first video into ... may be 5 chapters á 4 minutes? Or upload the complete thing? (More videos = more input on the channel = higher probability one video is found with good tags on the search engine = more views = more subs?).

I don't wanna scare people off when they see it's about 20 minutes long, but it's definately full of important AND coherent information (people who would watch the 3rd video, woulnd't understand everything without watching the other two before). Otherwise I think people who are truly interested would invest their time.

What's the best way to get it out there?

The Videos I commonly do are response videos.. They last anywhere from 15-20 minutes. There are a few factors.. The average user's attention span is 3 minutes if you can catch their attention in the first 30 seconds. If you do a video and cut it in half.. and then post both at the same time.. You'll generally get 25-50% of your base seeing the first video..and then even with annotations you'll only get 12.5% to 25% seeing the second.. I suggest this.. Do a weekly or bi weekly schedule..

So post your first intro and then at the end have a 'See the next episode on friday at time'.

Don't do multiple posts.. do a schedule and do the next part as aprt of the schedules.. My 2 cents.

I also agree that you should split it up. Longer videos put some people off. I do not mind watching a longer video, but kids these days may not want to watch for that long.
