I Love YTtalk
Hi
I saw in the advanced setting on YouTube video manger a box that enable tagging function to any uploaded YouTube video with location information (coordinates).

What is the benefit of that function ? Will it increase our cpc if we target any high paying country ?

That is not a country-targeting for ad units function, Zaffron. The purpose of that box is to show where your video was actually shot if you do live shoots; or alternately where in the world you create your videos as your studio space, if you use "canned" (stock) media.

I fear that trying to use this function in the way you propose might get you tagged for false metadata; as the country you put in, can easily be checked against your listed channel country in your Advanced Channel settings.

Btw, please show your subscriber numbers...people might think you have something to hide!

Does not matter.

It's his choice. He did not ask about his sub count or anything. Just because there are a few posts about the "if they should hide their sub count or not" issue does not mean you can ask people to show their sub count lmao
Sorry my friend; I've been a member of this forum since shortly after its founding; and if you check my posting history, which I invite you freely to do at your first opportunity, you will find that not only do I nearly always do that when I find a hidden sub count, but I also make it a habit to ask posters who don't link their channels in the sigs or have incorrect links, to either link or correct incorrect ones.

I take it that you neither know nor care that hiding your sub count also hurts your YouTube and general search results?

Who appointed you the Forum Sheriff all of a sudden? I did answer the OP's question before I asked that after all!

Lol congrats on being on here from the beginning that is a huge achievement I am super happy for you but that has nothing to do with this.

Also heads up hiding your sub count really does nothing to your channel. Unless you can provide me actual sources that are not from other YouTube creators but from the viewers.

?!?!?!?!?

It's a tough job but someone has to do it

LOL! How would regular viewers know anything about SEO for YouTube channels? @Tim Schmoyer We need your voice here my friend, and rather badly I think! Does hiding your subscriber numbers help or hurt your YouTube search rankings?

If someone whose whole channel is about getting views for and optimizing your channel cannot answer this, then no one can.

P. S. I've just sent Tim a PM; and I hope he's not too busy to jump in here and "moderate". This is a Silver Play Button winner after all...and I will bow to his knowledge in this matter.

Yes please @Tim Schmoyer tell me how hiding your sub count makes people not want to check out your channel.

That isn't even the question!

The question is actually does hiding your sub count help or hurt your YouTube and or Google Search rankings? The searches are what help potential viewers find your channel in the first place, after all!

I'm off to lunch; will check the thread this evening for progress.

Addendum: Tim has declined to jump in, but he confirms that it does nothing either negatively or positively for the search engine optimization. He thought I was asking him to back my opinion; so I had to correct this and tell him I had assumed it was a fact; therefore I hadn't been stating an opinion at all.
