Video editing and screen recording software

Hey, In my channel I'm doing gameplays and commentaries and because my channel is pretty new, I don't want to spend money on these Elgato game capture and stuff like that because I'm a bit short on money but I can afford screen recording software, so what software should I use? (BTW I currently use Camtasia Studio 8)
Second thing, I wanna know what video editing software is best for commentaries.

Not sure if you have a Nvidia Card in your machine, but Shadowplay is Free , the downside being it only works if you have a nvidia card in your machine. I use Premiere for Commentaries.

DXTory, FRAPS, Bandicam, Camtasia, MSI Afterburner, OBS.

DXTory and FRAPs are among the most known, they both record uncompressed so a fast HDD (anything above 50mbps for HD720, 100mbps with 1080p), both are on the same par with Quality and FPS in my case, but DXTory has more options like locking it to certain amounts of threads and being able to cap FPS to a specific Frame Rate.

FRAPS is great if you're looking for something easy to use, DXTory is good for people who need those extra options, it also exports 2 audio tracks in the final file.

OBS is also another favourite, it's free can compress, and comes with all the features in two names programs, it also allows for live streaming.

Sony Vegas and Premier are two favourite editing software, Vegas is the m ost popular but both are equally as hard to get used to, if you do allot of stuff in AE, get Premier, if you don't both are an option, I find Premier to have more features though.

Stick with Camtasia, it's the best in my opinion. As for editing software, I would get either Sony Vegas Pro or Adobe Premiere. Both are good professional options and have lots of options for adding commentary and touching up on audio.

As regards to editing software, Premiere Pro is a very good option. It is my personal favourite NLE (non-linear-editor) and I find its workflow easy to use and with a gentle learning curve. It is very customisable however I would make sure you have a reasonably powerful (none of this 2 GB of RAM nonsense) machine so that it will run smoothly, or you will get jumpy preview playback and exporting will take an age. Other options include Cyberlink Powerdirector, Sony Vegas Pro, Premiere Elements, Final Cut Pro (I hate it personally) and Avid Media Composer. If these are all too expensive for you, Movie Maker and iMovie (while both are terrible) can sometimes just get the job done.

I already have the sony vegas pro

Sony Vegas Pro is a fine option, I've been using it for years (until I switched to premiere recently). In terms of video capture, I would prefer OBS over camtasia, simply because it's a fantastic programme and open source project that we should all support. =P
