Ok so, I have 12 videos up right now with a total of around 13k views, all videos were monetized the moment i uploaded them, but after all those views, my estimated earnings is less than $2 USD. why is it so low? can anyone plz tell me? I have made the math and it should be at least around $20 USD right?

You don't calculate earnings by total views. You have to go into statistics and check how many of your total views are actually monetized. It's more likely out of that 13k only about 1-3k is monetized, and thats where the CPM per 1000 views comes from (ie 2 dollars per 1000 monetized views).

Two factors are at play. One, not every video runs an ad. YouTube has a complex algorithm based on the video and the viewer watching to determine whether an ad runs. Second, if an ad does run, YouTube (and therefore you) do not get paid unless certain criteria are met (how far past the Skip Ad button you watch, clicking on display ad, etc.). Go to Analytics/Earnings Report, and click Lifetime. You'll see the history of when and how much money was made each day.

Please take a look at your monetized view count, it's in the Ad Performance tab of your analytics.

check your CPM > Analystics > Ad Performance.
12 vids = 13k? your daily views? & how many views/day for your most video?

My cpm is a little over $1 and i got 4k monetized views according to my analythics, so whats wrong?

Ads can be shown, but skipped before the required length of time has passed or not clicked if it's an overlay.

The amount paid per ad also changes dramatically based on where in the world it played, the age/ sex of the person watching it, and the keywords used.

Right now, your videos are relatively new and with low views, but, as that changes, your CPM should increase.

interesting stuff. i've wanted to learn about this. this section of the forum should be a good reference point for future stuff.

CPM $1 x 0.55 (after Youtube's split) = $0.55 per 1k views (RPM)
$0.55 x 4 = $2.20

If you're in a network, they also take a percentage of that $2.20.
($2.20 is just an estimated number)
