Right im rendering in 1080p cause i want the best quality videos for my channel. When i rendered a 30 second video,it took 4 minutes. When i render anything above 5 minutes it takes hours. My pc isnt great but its got more RAM than is needed to run vegas pro 12, im sure of it. Could it be my CPU that makes it render so slow? I am building my own pc which will be a beast when built so i can deal with the slowness until then if it is my CPU, if not...What is it?

What are the specs of your current PC? And try a trial of Vegas 13, I noticed a huge boost in render times with MP4 on it.

There's infinite ways to make your render time vary and they all work together to create the time you're gonna get. Probably stats on your computer mixed with what's in the video, RAM isn't everything with rendering, honestly it's very minimal since you're needing to process every frame. Odds are either your computer hits a limit at that point or you're doing something to the video that causes even higher render times, effects of any kind can cause this. Also, it may go faster and slower depending on the parts of the video, notice which parts go slow and you can probably pick what caused it if you did more than just throwing clips together.

PC specs that i can find = Gigabyte, AMD athlon(tm) 64 x2 dual core processor 6000 + 3.00ghz, 4.00gb ram, 64bit operating system. Ill have to try the trial in that case

My Server PC can render 10minute videos in Vegas 13 in lass than 40 minutes and it has AMD Athlon x2 4800+ 2.3GHz, 3GB RAM and HD 6450, might be your settings, although I used GPU for rendering, do you have a GPU?

If you have a gpu, you can use its OpenCL(AMD) or Cuda(Nvidia) to help you render. AMD HD 6xxx and lower supports the Mainconcept AVC, it will cut down your rendering times 4x faster than just your cpu.

PS: AMD HD 7xxx and R9 and R7 series are not compatible though. I've tried it and they seem to work half-a**. 70% for my cpu and 30% of my gpu which is not the case on my HD 6950 before.
