Vegas or Premiere ?

I am using sony vegas 10 Pro for years. I am quite content with it. But, Premiere in combination with After Effects yields some impressive editing suite. I used to do light-saber stuff with it. Stuff that looked great, but never ended up on the net.

I would use Premiere over Vegas any day. Mainly because colleges, universities and everywhere else pretty much laughs at Vegas just like FCPX. It's a good starting point when switching from Movie Maker to actual editing software. But it's still not quite as good.

BBC, CNN and ITV use Premiere for their TV shows :)

But Avid is defiantly the way to go I'm getting it soon because I can get the student discount :)

I've always had the Master Collection and I've just moved over to the full collection of CC :) Great software. Well apart from Illustrator, I feel like that could be improved.
I said high budget films in the posts, the BBC ones are TV so yea that's perfectly plausable.
I just asked my tutor and got Avid for free ;p

I personally use Premiere Pro CC. It does just about all of the complicated editing tasks I throw at it. The only thing I don't like is the fact that in order to make a DVD or Blu Ray disc, you have to export to a DVD or Blu-Ray file and then dump that into Encore CS6. It was better using the dynamic link feature.

I just now looked up adobe and saw they went to a subscription model. Too bad. That means they won't get a dime from me anymore. I buy my software to own, not to get stuck with another monthly payment.

I have been doing quite well with Sony Vegas for over five years. I don't know if either one has spell-checker capabilities though.

I personally use Vegas but I have never used Premiere so I suppose it could be a bit biased.
Vegas is really easy to use once you get to grips with it :)
