Using other sites?

But, should a YouTuber upload at other places (like Vimeo?), but obviously link back to their main YouTube channel?
By linking back is by putting a watermark on the video, call-to-action but leading to main channel, etc.

I feel like, it could hurt and help at the same time, hurt by lowering the views you get overall, but help by advertising you on a different website entirely adding your same video to Google's search results.

I have 2 old videos on Vimeo as well as a password protected video for my fans (its too graphic for Youtube). I basicly made the Vimeo channel as an advertisement for my youtube channel. It does bring some traffic to my youtube channel so for 2 hours worth of work over 8 months ago, its been well worth it. I also did the same thing on Dailymotion and I know its brought some new fans in. Dont know how many though.

yep I upload to other sites I think in the long run it will greatly help out, as alot of other sites are less cluttered with videos.
