Using live chat

Hello folks. My friend does live streaming videos sometimes and I want to drop a comment. How do I do this? He said live chat but I don't know where that option is. Sorry, bit of a technophobe.

your friend goes live on youtube? usually there would be a chat right under the video, maybe try maximizing the browser, try different computer?
